I have been looking at some pictures trying to decide what to write about. Since I put off the blogging for so long, the things that were once facinating to me, have become normal, so by looking at old pictures, I remember what stood out.

. This country is a very "lovey-dovey" place. It is all about the romance. It's almost a bit too much. You know how when you are little your parents dress all matchey matchey with your siblings and its like... kinda weird? Or in the case of my family, when my mom made us all wear jungle outfit prints... well here, if you are a couple, you dress the same. They think its really cute... so I have taken some pictures of them. Enjoy.

Let's not forget the best couple of all

Alright,  so one day I was walking around the streets with my friend Nicole and we came across this picture. It is a photography studio. The funny thing is, Korean kids are really cute, but this--not so much.

It has been a looong time, I'm sorry!

Ok I am sorry, it has been way too long but it's not really my fault....

Firstly, remember I work 10 hour days and on top of that I am too cheap to pay for internet. The people I used to get my internet from must have moved or something...

Let me recap what has gone down the past few months.

1. My manager became very ill and had to leave the job, and my boss hired Satan--literally. HERA. She was the scariest person I think I have ever met in my life. She did not believe in smiling and thoroughly enjoyed the "f word". Also, I'm not so sure she has been a woman her whole life...

After much "drama"-- for lack of a better word, Hera stopped coming to work and so we were left without a manager (which we still don't have). Things are fine except my school is still suffering from "Hurricane Hera". About half of the students dropped, so we are not bringing in the money we need.

2. I have seen and done a lot of things, just to name a few...
    * DMZ --demilitarized zone, basically its the border of the north     and south.
    * many temples and palaces
    * nora-bong!  A room where you go sing karaoke at all hours of the night!
    * the zoo, it was so fun.
    * the lantern festival
    * Jenni came to visit <3

There are so many other things, you really should just check out my FB pictures to get a feel.

Anne, Kevin, Dave and Sunny
3.  I am still teaching and still loving it. Even though half of the kids dropped I have grown to love my little class just as much. They are seriously my pride and joy and I don't know what I will do without them which brings me to my next point....

4. I will arrive at LAX July 26th. It's already so bittersweet. I'm so sad to leave my babies and this country that has done so many great things for me but I am so happy to be with my family again.

So that is the update. I have two weeks left in Korea and I will try and post at least one more time before I come home.

                                                              xoxo

graduation

Oh I love my babies! They had graduation on Friday.  They really are the cutest things ever. My class did a play called, "Don't Stop Believin', they did such a good job! Here are some pictures from it. They are now the upper-classmen and lucky for me, I get to be their teacher again! YES!

class picture--notice I am really the only one smiling.

They take really corny pictures like this, but they are so cute!

Portraits of Teacher-- How They Really See Me.

So my kids like to draw pictures of me and give them to me, here are a few....

Yeah this picture is so hideous, its great to see how my students really see me. As for the weird marks on my face, a teacher told me it must be my wrinkles, but the student said it is "mad marks" because I yell in class.

I dont know how to flip this picture.....I  asked my student if this was a picture of him, and he assured me, "No Teacher, it is the Tara Teacher"

This one is actually pretty good.... but pretty scary.
As for this one, that's pretty scary.

Joon

So I am teaching some new classes with new students... yeah, this is Joon. He is in my drama class and earned himself a dance solo-- awesome, although I am going to have to give him a talking to about how this has to be "G- rated" if we want to show the younger students.

Teacher Bak-a-rume

Greg, he is soo funny. He is five Korean age, so really four. Every time we have class he says, "Teacher, Bak-a-rume" which translates to, "Teacher, Bathroom."

He usually pulls this about five times a class period. He then will walk out the door, and then walk right back in. Well I knew I had to share this with you, so I cornered him at school and demanded he say it... here you are...

Also, here are some other pictures of my kids. This is my homeroom class, Stanford. We went to a museum. I love them.

Also a couple other stories, or just weird things my students have said to me:

1. "Tara Teacher, are you a happy hamburger?"
"Yes, I am a happy hamburger."

2. "Ben, you need to put on your coat! NOW!"
" Oh, Tara Teacher because it is a jacket force-feild?"
      (This kid is four)

Ok also, I dont know if these videos are boring for people, but of course they are not for me since i love these babies but here is a day in the life as a teacher in Korea, with the strangest kids. Notice Andy, my favorite and notice Edward, the scary one yelling at me, calling me "old woman" in Korean.
